
Nick Petrecki Returns to Indy

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks announced that defenseman Nick Petrecki was released Sunday from his professional tryout contract (PTO) with the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves. Petrecki will report back to the Fuel.
Petrecki has two goals, five assists, a +6 rating and 35 penalty minutes in 18 games with the Fuel this season after coming to Indy in a Jan. 7 trade with the Elmira Jackals. The 26-year-old blueliner has logged 348 career games over seven seasons spent in the AHL and ECHL, serving as one of the Fuel's alternate captains prior to his departure.
Since signing a PTO with Chicago on Feb. 26, Petrecki appeared in three games with the Wolves, logging two shots on goal and seven penalty minutes. In 316 career AHL contests, the native of Clifton Park, N.Y. has accumulated 49 points (8g, 41a) and 632 penalty minutes. Petrecki was also the recipient of the AHL's Yanick Dupré Memorial Award in 2012, recognizing outstanding work in the community.
The Fuel return to action this weekend with a home-and-home series with the Evansville IceMen, beginning Friday at Indiana Farmers Coliseum and continuing on Saturday at Ford Center. Indy wraps up the weekend with a Sunday matinee against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
