(Boise, ID) - Head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Saturday that the Idaho Steelheads have signed forward Aki Seitsonen and he will be in the team's lineup Saturday night against the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Seitsonen has played 129 games at the ECHL level - all with Las Vegas - prior to joining the Steelheads. In those games, he scored 32 goals and added 36 assists. The 24-year-old has also skated in 65 games in the American Hockey League, scoring five goals and handing out five assists.

The 6-foot-3 Seitsonen (pronounced SIGHT-so-nen) scored three goals against Idaho during his previous stint in the ECHL and added two assists for Las Vegas in the 2007 ECHL National Conference Semifinals, a series that Idaho won en route to the team's second Kelly Cup championship.

He's a product of the Western Hockey League, playing major-junior hockey for the Prince Albert Raiders before turning professional. He was also a fourth-round draft pick of the NHL's Calgary Flames in 2004.

Idaho returns home Wednesday, December 15, and Friday, December 17, to face the Victoria Salmon Kings at Qwest Arena. Friday night is the Steelheads' annual "Teddy Bear Toss Night," benefiting Toys for Tots. Friday night is also another 4-for-$44 promotion, where fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, and four Pepsis for just $44.
