Omaha, Neb. - The Stars scored once in each period to take a 3-1 win against the Omaha Lancers on Saturday night in Ralston Arena.
Ethen Frank opened the scoring at 3:55 of the first period, carrying the puck down the left-wing side before firing a tight-angle shot over the glove of Lancers goalie Kris Oldham.
The Stars took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Frank added another in the second, burying a puck that squeaked by Oldham to make it 2-0.
The Lancers would cut the lead in half with less than two minutes remaining in the period when Brannon McManus fed a pass to Nick Rivera to make it 2-1 after 40 minutes.
Ludvig Hoff scored the only goal of the third, picking up his fourth goal in two games at 18:10 of the period to make it a 3-1 final.
Peyton Jones finished with 37 saves.
The Stars return to the Ice Box on Friday, Jan. 29 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
