Madison Capitols News Release
Madison, WI - The Madison Capitols (14-17-2-2) look to end their homestand with a third straight victory on Saturday night as they host the U.S. U17 National Team Development Program (15-17-3-1 USHL) at the Alliant Energy Center.
The Capitols began their weekend set with Team USA on a high note on Friday night, potting six goals in a 6-1 romp. The home side got three goals in both the first and third periods. Brody Stevens had a goal and two assists, while Luke McElhenie provided the game winning goal, his first of two in the opening period.
In three games against the U17 group this season, the Capitols have tallied 17 goals, including four from McElhenie in that span. The Capitols' penalty kill has been just as impressive as the offensive weapons, going 16-of-17 against Team USA in those three contests.
