
Stars Shine In Overtime Win Against Wolves

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars defeated the Iowa Wolves in overtime, hitting the target score to take the game 118-115 on the second night of their back-to-back at the Maverik Center on Saturday night.
The Stars were paced by Utah Jazz assignment player Leandro Bolmaro and center Tyler Cook. Bolmaro finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in 44 minutes of play. Cook also notched 22 points on 9-of-14 (.642) shooting with four rebounds and five assists. Rawle Alkins put on an impressive performance for the Stars with 18 points, nine rebounds, seven assists.
Four starters finished in double figures for the Wolves, led by P.J. Dozier who tallied a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds to go with six assists. CJ Elleby added 20 points and nine rebounds off the bench totaling 41 minutes of play.
The first quarter was led by Cook and Alkins, each contributing 10 points to lead the Stars as they took a strong 14-point lead to end the first frame. Iowa bounced back in the second as they brought the game to a tie to enter intermission 59-59. Bolmaro rallied the Stars with 13 points in the fourth in a tough battle that sent the teams into an overtime battle at 110-110. Salty Lake City grabbed the back-to-back victory with a game winning shot by Cook sending the Wolves home 118-115.
Salt Lake City will complete its four-game homestand on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the Maverik Center against the Rio Grande Vipers (Houston Rockets affiliate). The game, which tips off at 7 p.m., will be broadcast on NBAGLeague.com.
