
Skyforce Outlasts Vipers 115-104 for Third-Straight Win

Edinburg, TX - For the third-straight game, the Sioux Falls Skyforce had three-plus players score 20-plus points, which delivered a 115-104 decision on Friday night at Bert Ogden Arena.
Jamaree Bouyea tied a career-high, with 27 points on 12-18 FGA, five rebounds and five assists. Mychal Mulder contributed 27 points on 7-11 FGA (6-10 3PA), four rebounds and three steals. Miami HEAT two-way player Jamal Cain added 20 points on 7-16 FGA and a career-high 17 rebounds (10 offensive).
Sioux Falls (3-2) held Rio Grande Valley (1-4) to just 23 points on 33.3 percent shooting (9-27 FGA) in the opening period. DJ Stewart (18 points and three rebounds) scored 10 points on 3-5 FGA in the quarter, which gave the Skyforce a 27-23 lead after the first 12 minutes.
Behind 50 percent shooting (11-22 FGA) and a 21-6 run to end the quarter, Sioux Falls took a 56-50 lead at halftime. Bouyea and Cain combined for 16 points on 7-12 FGA and seven rebounds in the period.
Mulder and Bouyea erupted for 25 of the Skyforce's 38 third quarter points (9-10 FGA), as they outscored the Vipers by six in the period to take a 94-82 lead with 12 minutes remaining.
The Vipers held the Skyforce to 33.3 percent shooting (7-21 FGA) in the final quarter, but Sioux Falls was able to build a lead as big as 18 points in the fourth period to earn the victory.
Houston Rockets two-way player Darius Days led the Vipers with 32 points on 11-19 FGA and 12 rebounds, while Jalen Lecque posted 27 points on 9-18 FGA and seven assists to round out top scorers for Rio Grande Valley.
Both teams meet again tomorrow night (Saturday) at 7:30 PM CST from Bert Ogden Arena.
