FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have acquired guard Tyler Dorsey via returning player rights. Dorsey spent the majority of the Showcase portion of the season with the Legends on a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks.
Dorsey (6-5, 183, Oregon) played 17 games for the Legends this season averaging 24.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. The Los Angeles native saw action in three regular season games for the Mavericks prior to his contract being terminated Dec. 26th. Dorsey has played 107 NBA games across three seasons/teams and holds career averages of 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 15.7 minutes per game.
Dorsey was a 2nd round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, selected 41st overall by the Atlanta Hawks. Prior to joining the Mavericks, he spent the last three seasons in Israel (Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv) and Greece (Olympiacos). The former California Gatorade Player of the Year also joined the Greek National Team for seven Eurobasket contests last summer averaging 13.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 22.5 minutes.
