
Stars Outscore Swarm to Collect Fifth-Straight Win

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, kicked off their road trip, nabbing their fifth-straight win of the season with a 128-119 victory over the Greensboro Swarm tonight at Greensboro Coliseum.
Salt Lake City Center Tyler Cook returned to the court after a two-game injury to lead the Stars with a double-double of 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting, and 18 rebounds. Utah Jazz two-way player Johnny Juzang scored 23 points on 8-of-16 (.500) from the field and 3-of-6 (.500) from three-point range. The guard also tallied five rebounds and five assists. The NBA G League player of the week, Frank Jackson finished with 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Jeenathan Williams tallied a near double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds while Eli Cain came off the bench to add 15 points and serve three assists.
Greensboro's Kobi Simmons led the night with 30 points off the bench on 11-of-16 shooting from the field and 6-of-11 from behind the arc. Xavier Sneed tallied 20 points, three rebounds, and two assists. While Swarm center Kai Jones recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
The Stars and Swarm began with a back-and-forth battle with four ties including a 31-31 score to end the first. The second quarter sent the Stars ahead by two-points to end the half 59-57. Salt Lake City continued to show their dominance through the second half, taking their largest lead of the game (19 points) with 2:18 left in the third quarter. Greensboro fought back in the fourth quarter, starting the final frame on a 13-2 run, but ultimately could not come out on top. The Stars claimed their first victory of their three-game road trip 128-119, pushing their win-streak to five.
The Stars held the advantage in assists (26-17), rebounds (54-36), points in the paint (70-50), fast break points (19-16) and blocks (5-1), while the Swarm served more assists (31-28), and scored more three-pointers (16-11).
Salt Lake City will continue its three-game road trip with back-to-back games against the Lakeland Magic on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 at the RP Funding Center. The games, which tip off at 5 p.m. (MT), will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
