Stockton Kings News Release

Today, the Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, relaunched their "Fit Kids" program in partnership with Kaiser Permanente for the third year to promote health and wellness. In 2022, the Stockton Kings received the NBA G League Social Responsibility Award for the initiative that demonstrates excellence in business and social responsibility.

"The Stockton Kings are excited to continue to partner with Kaiser Permanente for the Fit Kids program," said Stockton Kings Vice President Business of Operations Aaron Morales. "Our goal is to further encourage healthy living throughout our community and build a culture of health and wellness for students, staff and families through informational tools that will benefit them for a lifetime."

The program is designed for 3rd through 5th grade students and consists of a workbook with activities that children can engage with on a weekly basis. Topics include nutrition, hydration, movement and mindfulness. The interactive activities are created to educate young students that balancing nutrition and exercise can positively impact their lives.

Six elementary schools across the Stockton Unified School District will be participating in the program, reaching over 2,000 local students. The Stockton Kings will travel to Spanos Elementary, Hazelton Elementary, Taylor Elementary, El Dorado Elementary, August Elementary and Van Buren Elementary to gift "Fit Kids" bags to each school and will be hosting a school assembly with Stockton Kings staff and Kaiser Permanente representatives promoting health and fitness. Each bag contains a workbook, water bottle and a reusable ice therapy pack to enjoy while practicing healthy habits.
