905 Drops Season Series to Celtics

Raptors 905 (8-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, dropped a 117-126 decision to the Maine Celtics (11-7) Wednesday afternoon. The 905 were led by Ron Harper Jr. who stuffed the stat sheet with 28 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Luka Samanic led Celtics' effort putting up a game-high 29 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks in the victory. Maine opened the ball game strong, gaining the upper hand as they outscored the 905 24-10 in the opening six minutes. The 905 came out of the timeout strong, cutting the lead to nine points as the quarter ended. The home side opened the second quarter on a 6-0 run but the Celtics' carried their momentum into the frame, outscoring the 905 31-25 and extending their lead to 15 points going into the half.

The 905 came out of the break strong, going on a 12-4 run in the opening minutes of the third quarter. The home side continued to power through, outscoring the visitors 34-31 as the quarter ended. In the final frame, the 905 continued to fight back, bringing the game within 5, but a balanced scoring effort from the Celtics sealed the victory on the road.

Dalano Banton and Reggie Perry paced the 905 with 21 and 20 points respectively. JD Davison added 23 points, two rebounds, nine assists, and three steals coming off the bench in the victory. The Raptors 905 travel to Westchester to take on the Knicks in back-to-back games beginning Sunday, tip-off slated for 1:00 pm. The Celtics return to Maine to host the Charge Friday, tip-off at 7:00 pm.
