
Frank Jackson to Participate in NBA G League Next up Game

SALT LAKE CITY - The NBA G League announced today that Salt Lake City Stars guard Frank Jackson has been named the G League Player of the Week for games played from Monday, Jan. 30, through Sunday, Feb. 5. In addition, Jackson has been selected to participate in the G League Next Up game on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center at 5 p.m. MT.
Jackson (6-3, 205, Duke) averaged 27.3 points on 59.0 percent shooting, 48.1 percent from downtown, along with 4.0 assists during the week, helping the Stars to a 3-0 record. Salt Lake City now stands at 9-8 on the regular season with Jackson ranking 10th in the G League in true shooting percentage (.686).
Here is a closer look at the week for Jackson:
Jan 30 vs. Memphis: Recorded 25 points (9-of-15 FG) including and 3-of-6 from behind the arc, and adding four assists in a 118-111 win against the Hustle.
Jan. 31 vs. Memphis: Finished with game-high 30 points and handed out four assists in a back-to-back 135-105 win vs. the Hustle.
Feb. 4 vs. Rio Grande Valley: Logged 27 points (11-of-18 FG), and contributed 3-of-9 three-point shots, along with four assists in a 131-125 victory against the Vipers.
The former Mr. Utah Basketball (2016) was selected to represent Salt Lake City in the 2023 NBA All-Star Next Up game on Feb. 19. The Lone Peak High School Basketball alumis averaging 23.0 points on 50.5 percent from the field, and 44.9 percent from downtown, along with 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 32.8 minutes per contest in the G League regular season. The 24-year-old has totaled three games with 30-or-more points this season for the Stars.
The 2023 NBA G League Next Up game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 5:00 p.m. MT and be available live on NBA TV from the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City as part of NBA All-Star Weekend. Two team captains, Luka Garza & Scoot Henderson, will select a 12-man roster from the 24-player field during the NBA G League Next Up Game Draft, which will be broadcast on Feb. 14 on NBAGLeague.com at 5:00 p.m. MT. The 24-player field includes G League players selected by a fan vote and the League.
