Westchester Knicks News Release
COLLEGE PARK, GA - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, were handed a 121-107 loss by the College Park Skyhawks Wednesday evening at Gateway Center Arena.
Two-Way Player DaQuan Jeffries finished with 20 points and 12 boards for his third consecutive double-double. Two-Way Player Trevor Keels gave an 18-point effort. James Akinjo (affiliate) rallied for 17 points and eight dimes. Obadiah Noel (available player pool) posted 14 points.
For the Skyhawks, Brandon Williams had 24 points and 10 helpers. Armoni Brooks contributed 28 points to their cause. Langston Galloway ended with 21 points.
Westchester forced 18 College Park turnovers which equated to 30 points for the Knicks. The Skyhawks were beneficiaries of 18 points for the 11 Knicks miscues. The Knicks (87.5%) also shot better from the stripe than the Skyhawks (80%) but many other statistical categories favored College Park. Against College Park Monday, Westchester had a regular season-high 72 points in the paint but only scored 48 by the cup tonight to the Skyhawks' 56.
The Knicks gained custody of the lead in the early onset of the first quarter but outside of that lone scoring sequence, the Skyhawks maintained and protected their lead going up by as many as 25 points throughout the contest. The Knicks clawed back within single digits late in the game but without a tally in the last minute, Westchester would fall by the 14-point deficit.
Westchester returns home Friday, February 10 versus the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7 PM ET at Total Mortgage Arena.
