Salt Lake City Stars News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, clinched a berth in the 2019 NBA G League Playoffs by virtue of last night's Santa Cruz Warriors 112-110 victory over the Agua Caliente Clippers. The Stars, who own the sixth seed in the Western Conference, will travel to face the No. 3 seed Oklahoma City Blue (Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate) in the First Round on Tuesday, March 26 at 6 p.m. (MT). The game will be broadcast on the NBA G League's Twitch channel.

The playoffs in the NBA G League are single-elimination for the first three rounds and the NBA G League Finals are a best-of-three series, which will be played in a one-one-one format.

This marks the Stars' first playoff berth since the team moved to Salt Lake City prior to the 2016-17 season and the first appearance in the postseason by the Stars/Idaho Stampede franchise since 2009, when the club was based in Boise.

The Stars completed the 2018-19 season with 27 wins, the club's first winning season in the Salt Lake City Era (since 2016-17) and the franchise's most wins since 2008-09 (31) when it was based in Idaho. The Stars improved by 11 wins this season compared to the 2017-18 campaign, tied for the largest season-over-season improvement in the NBA G League this year.
