St. Louis CITY SC Expands Commitment to "Tackle the Struggle" with New Partnership with Missouri 988

St. Louis CITY SC is continuing to "Tackle the Struggle" and highlight the importance of mental health and well-being and connect people to mental health resources, especially during Mental Health Awareness Month in May. The club welcomes Missouri 988 as its newest Proud Partner.

Through this partnership, CITY SC will bring awareness to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. 988 is available 24/7 via call, text or chat, and offers free and confidential support through trained crisis specialists in Missouri who can help individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, substance use, anxiety, depression, or any other kind of emotional distress or mental health crisis.

"Mental health support is one of the core pillars of our club, and this partnership with Missouri 988 helps us break the stigma around asking for help while connecting people to critical resources. Together, we want to remind our community that no one has to face these challenges alone," said Matt Sebek, Chief Experience Officer, St. Louis CITY SC.

Since 2023, St. Louis CITY SC has utilized its Tackle the Struggle platform to not just talk about mental health but provide the resources and encouragement to make a difference. Through partnerships with Purina, BJC Behavioral Health, Missouri 988 and more, these topics have ranged from suicide prevention to the power of building community and connection through sport. In addition to sharing meaningful stories and resources through social content and stlcitysc.com/tackle-the-struggle, the club has hosted a Mental Health Awareness match for the past three seasons - this year's scheduled for May 13 - as well as introduced Pick Up CITY in 2025, a regularly occurring and open-to-the-public pick-up soccer event for individuals to meet new friends and fellow fans.
