
St. John's Maple Leafs Announce Preseason Schedule

The St. John's Maple Leafs will open training camp in Kitchener, Ontario by taking to the ice Tuesday, September 28. Thirty-two players will take part in medicals and fitness testing at Air Canada Centre on Monday, September 27. The final training camp session at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex will take place on Sunday, October 3.
On-ice sessions will be run by St. John's head coach Doug Shedden and assistant coaches Kevin McClelland and Russ Adam. Toronto Maple Leafs management and coaching staff members are expected to be in attendance at the training camp. Training camp will consist of practices and scrimmage play highlighted by a Blue/White scrimmage scheduled for Saturday, October 2 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex at 10 a.m. As part of the St. John's Maple Leafs' training camp in Kitchener, the organization is committed to its traditional school and hospital visits within the community that will occur Thursday, September 30. In addition, the Maple Leafs will host âRoad Hockey Day in Kitchener' which will take place Saturday, October 2 at the arena from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Notable dates during the St. John's regular season include the season opener October 15 at Syracuse, the home opener October 21 also against Syracuse, and two games versus the Binghamton Senators on December 1 and 3 at Air Canada Centre.
