
St. Cloud Wins Seventh Consecutive Game

St. Cloud, MN - St. Cloud (30-18) scored all seven runs in the fifth inning and defeated Bismarck (23-26) by a score of 7-3 at the Rock Pile. The Rox have won seven games in a row, tied for their longest win streak of the season.
Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Rox went through eleven hitters and plated seven runs. Ben Carew (Kent State) hit a two-run double into the gap in left field and scored Jack Kelly (Northwestern) and Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio) to get the scoring started. Hance Smith (California-Berkeley) tied the game in the next at-bat on an RBI-single that scored Parker Smejkal (Nebraska-Omaha).
Gus Steiger gave the Rox the lead n in the next at-bat, as he drilled an RBI-double that scored Carew. That set up Garrett Delano (Brown), who extended the lead and the inning with a two-run double. Kelly later singled and scored Delano to finish off the seven-run inning.
RJ Martinez (Minot State) pitched six innings and struck out six batters. He notched his sixth win of the season. Alex Carillo (Faulkner) pitched the seventh inning and Pedro Garcia (Georgia Gwinnett College) tossed the eighth and ninth innings.

St. Cloud returns home on Friday, July 19th against the Bismarck Larks at 7:05 p.m. There will be a post-game fireworks show presented by Cornerstone Buffet and Restaurant.
