Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

Wappingers Falls, NY - The Hudson Valley Renegades fell at home tonight 5-0 to the Lowell Spinners, dropping to 22-7 at Dutchess Stadium this season. They are now 40-21 overall, and will play two more games against the Spinners before the All-Star break. Hudson Valley still leads the McNamara Division in first place by seven games over second place Brooklyn.

Enderson Franco entered tonight's action with a 6-1 record and a 3.02 ERA. He cruised through the first three innings before Lowell started the scoring in the fourth inning. The Spinnersadded four more in the top of the fifth to put the game out of reach. Franco still sits among the league leaders in overall wins and is first on the team.

Gerardo Reyes and Edwin Fierro went the next four innings of the game, splitting them up two apiece. Reyes put together one of the best appearances of his campaign, striking out two without surrendering a base-runner. The reliever touched 94 mph on three separate occasions out of the bullpen.

Edwin Fierro has been impressive since joining the team from Princeton, West Virginia. He threw two innings of scoreless baseball including a 1-2-3 top of the ninth in his third relief appearance this season.

Offensively, the potent Renegades offense could only muster five hits on the evening. They managed to get runners in scoring position on three separate occasions but could not plate a runner for the second consecutive night.
