JAMESTOWN, NY - Could the Jamestown Jammers be in line for a late season playoff push? After sweeping both games of a doubleheader last night against the Auburn Doubledays, the Jammers now find themselves just four games back of the Wild Card leading Brooklyn Cyclones. The Jammers sit at 27-31, and are 6-4 in their last 10 games. Jamestown also currently is seven games back of the State College Spikes, who lead the Pinckney division, and have a record of 35-25.

The Jammers will welcome the Batavia Muckdogs to town tonight for a 7:05pm game. The Muckdogs are tied with the Jammers in the standings, and have a record of 28-32. After tonight's game, the two teams will travel to Batavia for a match-up tomorrow night. The Muckdogs and Jammers will then square off once more before the All-Star break Sunday afternoon at Diethrick Park. Sunday's game will begin at 4:05pm.

Don't forget that tonight is Shults Auto Group Community Night at the ballpark. Fans can stop by any area Shults dealership to pick up tickets to the game.

RHP Jacob Smigelski (Batavia, 2-0, 3.58 ERA) vs. RHP Tyler Eppler (Jamestown, 0-2, 3.02 ERA)

Jacob Smigelski: Right-handed pitcher from Glendora, California. 13th round pick in the 2014 Draft out of the University of California Riverside. Has made nine appearances for the Batavia Muckdogs in 2014 (three starts). In 27 2/3 innings, Smigelski has given up 22 hits, 14 runs (11 earned), has walked 10, struck out 18, has a 2-0 record, and an ERA of 3.58.

Tyler Eppler: Right-handed pitcher from Navasota, Texas. 6th round pick in the 2014 Draft out of Sam Houston State. Has made 11 starts for the Jammers so far in the 2014. In 50 2/3 innings, Eppler has given up 45 hits, 22 runs (17 earned), has walked 10, struck out 35, has an 0-2 record, and an ERA of 3.02.

Players to Watch (Jamestown)

Elvis Escobar (Outfielder): Escobar has almost raised his average to .300 on the season. He is currently hitting .286 in 23 games, with 24 total hits, three doubles, and one triple. In his last nine games, he is hitting .289, with 10 hits in 34 at-bats, and has scored seven runs over that span.

Erik Lunde (Infielder): Lunde picked up a huge 2-run single with the bases loaded in game one of last night's doubleheader. The hit expanded the Jammers lead to 3-1, and that would end up being the final score. In his last six games, Lunde is hitting .421, with eight hits in 19 at-bats, and he has driven in three runs over that span.

Players to Watch (Batavia)

Mason Davis (Infielder): In his last 10 games, Davis is hitting .351, with 13 hits in 37 at-bats, four runs driven in, and eight runs scored. On the season for Batavia, Davis is hitting .331 in 47 games, with 59 hits, 11 doubles, five triples, three home runs, and 26 RBIs.
