
Spend Your Fourth of July Weekend with the Spikes

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes are home for a star-spangled weekend stretching from the Fourth of July through Sunday, July 6. FIREWORKS, Military Appreciation Night, and a Spikes Hat Giveaway will all be part of the packed promotional schedule at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
The fun begins on Friday, July 4 with a special 1 p.m. game pitting the future St. Louis Cardinals against the Jamestown Jammers (Pittsburgh Pirates). Fans will enjoy a Salute to America, Baseball and Apple Pie as they begin the holiday at the ballpark in conjunction with Central PA 4th Fest. The first 100 fans through the gates when they open to the public at noon will receive free apple pie from McDonald's.
The Fourth of July is also a 4 for $44 Friday, presented by TGI Fridays and MAJIC 99, with four Diamond Club seats, four hot dogs and four small sodas available for just $44. Additional packages are available for $11 each.
In addition, the first 100 kids aged 12 and under to visit Geisinger Careworks locations at the Weis Plaza in Bellefonte or the Best Buy Plaza in State College will receive FREE tickets on a Geisinger Careworks Kids FREE Friday .
Fans will also enjoy an acoustic performance from Sgt. Bob, and any fan using his or her Penn State Alumni Association Credit Card can receive a $3 ticket discount at the Box Office. The discount will also be available to Penn State Alumni Association Credit Card holders for Saturday and Sunday's games as well.
Saturday, the Spikes and Jammers meet at 7:05 p.m., with the first 1,000 fans of all ages receiving a Spikes Hat Giveaway presented byLion Country Kia. Fans can also enter into the drawing for theLion Country Kia Dice Rollthat will allow one fan to roll for the chance at a new Kia.
Sunday is Military Appreciation Night at the park, presented byBeer Belly's, with FIREWORKS after the 6:05 p.m. game against Jamestown presented by thePA LotteryandESPN Radio 1450. Members of the military and their families presenting valid ID will receive complimentary free tickets to Sunday's game.
It's also aKids Dayat Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, presented byFirst National Bank, with kids able to eat and play for free thanks toDairy Queen Grill & Chill.
Plus, the Spikes will wear special "Stars & Stripes" caps on the Fourth of July, which will then be up for bids on Sunday in a Hat-off-the-Head Auction benefiting the Association for Penn State Veteran Alumni (APSVA) . Winning bidders for each of the Spikes' caps will receive them immediately after the game.
Kids can run the bases after all three home games thanks to Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc.
