Sounds Silence 'Birds in Shutout

MEMPHIS, TN - Nashville shutout Memphis 7-0 Thursday night at AutoZone Park to even the series at two games apiece.

Sounds starter Doug Davis combined with two relievers to shutout the Redbirds. Davis allowed only two hits and fanned nine over five innings to earn his first win. Tim Dillard and Mike McClendon finished off the blanking with two innings each. Meanwhile, the Sounds offense gave the club an early lead scoring five runs in the first five innings. Leadoff hitter Trent Oeltjen scored two runs in the first two innings and Joe Koshansky added a two-run homer in the third. Brendan Katin added two RBI-singles to help lead the Sounds. Memphis collected only six hits in the loss.

The 'Birds wrap up their series with Nashville and the homestand tomorrow night with game time slated for 7:05 p.m. Tomorrow night the Memphis Grizzlies draft picks are scheduled to be at the game to sign autographs and throw out the first pitch. For ticket information call 901.721.6000.
