
Triple-A All-Star Umpires Announced

The International League's Chris Conroy and Alan Porter, and the Pacific Coast League's Cory Blaser and John Tumpane have been selected as the umpires for the 23rd annual Triple-A All-Star Game, to be held at Lehigh Valley's Coca-Cola Park on Wednesday, July 14, Triple-A Baseball officials announced today.
The man behind the plate will be Chris Conroy. Conroy, a resident of North Adams, Massachusetts, is currently in his fifth season as an umpire in Triple-A Baseball and eleventh season overall as a professional umpire. Before joining the IL he served assignments in the New York-Penn, Florida Instructional, South Atlantic, Carolina, Eastern, and Pacific Coast Leagues. He's also worked in the prestigious Arizona Fall and Venezuelan Winter Leagues as well as at Major League Spring Training.
First base umpire Cory Blaser is in his third season of service with the Pacific Coast League. Before joining the Triple- A ranks, Blaser worked games in the Arizona, Northwest, Midwest, Carolina, and Eastern Leagues. Like Conroy, he's also been to the Arizona Fall League, Venezuelan Winter Leagues, and Major League Spring Training, and this year Blaser received his first assignment in the Major Leagues. He resides in Westminster, Colorado.
Manning second base will be the International League's Alan Porter. Porter is a 9-year veteran and is in his third season with the IL. The Warminster, Pennsylvania native has spent time in the Gulf Coast, New York-Penn, South Atlantic, Florida Instructional, Arizona Instructional, Carolina, Eastern, and Arizona Fall Leagues, and this year he has seen action in the Major Leagues.
Making the calls on the third base side of the diamond is John Tumpane, who has been with the Pacific Coast League since 2008. The Oak Lawn, Illinois resident's resume includes service with the Gulf Coast, New York-Penn, South Atlantic, Florida State, Arizona Instructional, Eastern, Arizona Fall, and Venezuelan Leagues during the course of his nine-year career. He has also been selected to work Major League Spring Training.
