Game Keys - Norris Hopper had four singles, and scored three runs for Nashville as the Sounds defeated New Orleans 10-3 on Thursday at Greer Stadium. The Zephyrs took the lead in the second inning with a two run home run for Scott Cousins. The lead was brief as the Sounds rallied with three runs in the third to take the lead. Johnny Raburn belted a pinch hit three run home run in the eighth to give the Sounds a 103 lead. Nashville starter Chris Waters earned the win and We Whisler took the loss for the Z's. Nashville has won all 5 meetings this season and has won 7 in row over the Zephyrs going back to 2009.

Game Notes- Zephyrs third baseman Hector Luna was named to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team for the game against the International League on July 14 at Allentown, Pa. Luna is batting .307 and ranks fifth in the PCL in home runs with 14 and RBIs with 54. He leads the Zephyrs in at-bats with 261 and games played with 71. Luna had a 11 game hit streak snapped on Thursday. Angel Espada joined the Zephyrs on Thursday in Nashville to give the Zephyrs an extra coach. Z's reliever Matt Peterson was named to Class AA Southern League All-Star team, he will not participate since he was promoted to Triple A.

Coming Up: The Zephyrs and Sounds will meet in the second game of the three game series on Friday at 7pm. LH Sean West (3-2, 4.00) will match-up against LH Chuck Lofgren (7-4, 5.29). RADIO WMTI 106.1 FM
