Weekly recap

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers had a busy, tough holiday week, dropping all four games they played. The Sound Tigers made a spirited comeback against the Hershey Bears before falling 6-3 last Tuesday. Bridgeport lost 3-2 to rival Hartford at home on Friday, 3-1 at Springfield on Saturday and 7-3 to surging Albany on home ice on New Year's Eve.

Clean slate: The Sound Tigers ended the 2006 calendar year with a loss to Albany and will try to kick off 2007 with a win and, in doing so, avenge their most recent setback. Friday's game at Albany caps a home-and-home series between the East Division foes.

In the standings: The Sound Tigers have a record of 13-16-1-3 and are in fifth place in the East Division.

Nielsen closing in on record: Frans Nielsen had a pair of assists in Sunday's game to extend his point streak to nine games. He is just three games away from tying the Sound Tigers' all-time record held by Jeff Hamilton. Jeff Tambellini had a 10-game streak earlier this season and Jeremy Colliton had an eight-game streak.

Fraser's first: On Sunday, newcomer Jamie Fraser scored his first American Hockey League goal in just his fourth career AHL game and only his second with the Sound Tigers.

Strong PK: Bridgeport's penalty kill remains atop the league this week.
