Columbus Recalls Motzko

Syracuse, NY (January 2, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled right wing Joe Motzko.

Motzko, 26, has appeared in 31 games this season with Syracuse, recording a team-high 34 points (11g, 23a) and 29 penalty minutes. He is currently tied for first (Brad Moran) with nine shorthanded goals all-time, fourth with 202 points, 83 goals and 119 assists, fifth with 32 power play goals 243 games played. A native of Bemidji, Minnesota, Motzko was signed as a free agent by Columbus on May 15, 2003.

The Crunch travel to Toronto tonight for a 7:30 p.m. match-up. Syracuse returns to the War Memorial at Oncenter on Saturday, January 13 to host Rochester.
