Lowell, Mass. - Jeff Hamilton scored twice to lift the visiting Bridgeport Sound Tigers (31-24-3-2) to a 3-1 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters (23-28-4-5) at Tsongas Arena on Friday night. The loss snaps a three-game winning streak for Lowell.

The Monsters came out with jump, controlling the tempo and keeping traffic in front of G Cody Rudkowsky. After earning an early power play, Lowell drew first blood. Johnny Boychuk rifled a shot that lit the lamp, after he kept the puck in at the point, to make it 1-0. A series of penalties put the Monsters on the defensive for the remainder of the period, but the league's second-ranked penalty killing team kept Bridgeport off the board. Lowell held a 14-10 shot lead after one, to go with their 1-0 lead.

While on a second period power play, Lowell surrendered the equalizer. Rob Collins skated in alone on G Tyler Weiman and snapped a wrister home for his 17th of the season. On a two-man advantage the Tigers took the lead with a blast by Jeff Hamilton. Another power play goal by Hamilton less than five minutes later at 18:06 made it 3-1 Bridgeport. Lowell maintained a 26-22 shot lead through 40 minutes.

Rudkowsky and the Sound Tigers held off the Lock Monsters in the third period. Lowell fired 15 more shots on goal in the final stanza and had several opportunities late, after they pulled their netminder, but it was all for not. Bridgeport picked up their eighth win in as many tries against the Monsters on the season, closing out the season series. Weiman suffered the loss in net, stopping 28 shots to fall to 3-2-0.
