LOOKING AHEAD: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton pays a visit to Winnipeg for two games this weekend against a Manitoba Moose team that ended the Penguins' 20-0-2-1 start to the season with a 3-1 win back on Dec. 9... The Penguins are still in first place in the East Division, while Manitoba has slipped back to third in the North... Erik Christensen remains Wilkes-Barre's top scoring threat, with six goals and two assists in his last eight games... Jesse Schultz has 26 goals for the Moose this season, nearly twice as many as his nearest teammate... Lee Goren has recorded 20 points in 20 games since rejoining Manitoba on Dec. 31... Wilkes-Barre is 2-3-0-1 so far on a nine-game road swing that will end in Toronto on Sunday; the Moose hit the road for eight straight following this weekend.

Portland hosts Manchester on Friday night (7:05 ET) for the seventh meeting of the season between the teams, who occupy the top two spots in the Atlantic Division... The Pirates own a 4-1-0-1 edge in the season series and have won six of their last seven overall, most recently a 6-3 win over Providence on Sunday... Pierre Parenteau now has 13 points (6g, 7a) in his last eight games for Portland... The Pirates' Ryan Shannon and the Monarchs' Jeff Tambellini are two of the top three rookie scorers in the AHL this season... Manchester, which comes into the weekend six points back of Portland in the Atlantic, continues its weekend with two games in Providence against the fourth-place Bruins.

A two-game showdown at the Bradley Center could shake up the top of the West Division as first-place Houston visits second-place Milwaukee on Saturday (7:30 CT) and Sunday (2:00 CT, XM Radio)... The Aeros have won four in a row to hang onto a slim two-point lead over the Admirals, who are 14-3-3-1 in their last 21 games... Houston's Erik Westrum (79 points) and Kirby Law (78) continue to lead the AHL in scoring, with Milwaukee's Darren Haydar (63) fifth... Josh Harding of the Aeros (24-7-0) and Pekka Rinne of the Admirals (23-12-2) rank second and third, respectively, in victories.
