The Devils answered just 22 seconds later on Chris Minard's 20th goal to deadlock the game at a goal apiece.
The back-and-forth early-period scoring continued with Regier netting his 13th at the 3:08 mark. Nilsson and Petteri Nokelainen assisted the goal for 2-1 Sound Tigers lead. Nolan opened up a 3-1 cushion at 18:31 of the period with his ninth goal of the campaign. Tomas Malec and Johnson earned assists.
