Bridgeport, CT - Wade Dubielewicz made 30 saves to lead the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (26-20-1-4) defeated the Lowell Devils (23-22-5-2) 4-1 at the Arena at Harbor Yard Friday night.

The first period ended scoreless but was not without chances for the Devils. They outshot the Sound Tigers 11-4 in the period, with several opportunities coming on the two Lowell power plays in the period. G Wade Dubielewicz, who stopped 38 Devils shots in a shootout win last weekend in this same building, kept the Devils off the board with a solid first.

The offense exploded in the opening minutes of the second. The Sound Tigers opened the scoring just 1:36 in with a goal by Jeremy Colliton, who redirected a shot over the shoulder of Frank Doyle to make it 1-0. The Devils tied the game just 22 seconds later. After a blast went wide of the net, Chris Minard gathered in the rebound and slipped it home for his 20th of the season at 1:58. Bridgeport regained the lead at 3:08 with the 13th of the season by Steve Regier. The Devils nearly escaped with just a one-goal deficit, but Brandon N! olan made it 3-1 with just 1:29 remaining in the frame.

Lowell fought to get back in the game but Dubielewicz kept the Devils at bay. He made 11 saves in the third period and 30 in the game, but it was his strong opening period that enabled his club to gain the edge. Jamie Johnson added an empty net goal in the waning moments to provide the final margin, just the third time all season the Devils have lost by more than two goals.

The Devils return home on Saturday, February 17th to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Devils Hat Giveaway Night. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will get a Lowell Devils baseball cap, sponsored by Pepsi. All Devils games, home and away, can be heard on WCAP 980AM with the Voice of the Devils, Ryan Johnston, or online through B2 Networks on www.lowelldevilshockey.com.
