Solar Bears to Hold Practice in Rockledge
January 18, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Orlando Solar Bears News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that the team will hold practice at the Space Coast Iceplex, located at 720 Roy Wall Blvd, Rockledge, FL, 32955, on Saturday, Jan. 23 from 3:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Admission to watch the Solar Bears practice is free, and immediately following the practice, Solar Bears players and Shades will be available for pictures and autographs with fans.
"We are pleased to continue to have the opportunity to practice at the Iceplex and thank Matt Smith and his team for hosting us," said Orlando Solar Bears President/CEO Jason Siegel. "We have had terrific support from Brevard County fans at our games at the Amway Center, and this is an excellent chance to once again bring our players out to them for an afternoon."
"Space Coast Iceplex is super stoked the Orlando Solar Bears are coming to our rink for an actual practice. We're expecting hundreds of our local fans to come watch and stay for the meet and greet," Space Coast Iceplex General Manager/Hockey Coordinator Matt Smith said. "We're even setting up a special area for our Tim's Kids players to watch. Tim's Kids is a hockey program for kids with Special Needs to play and enjoy hockey at our facility. Most of them cannot go to a regular game because of the amount of stimulus with crowds and noise. This is the perfect opportunity for these kids to enjoy what most of us take for granted. We can't thank the Solar Bears enough! Go Bears!"
The Solar Bears conclude their season-high seven-game road trip when they face the Florida Everblades in a Wawa Sunshine Cup Series game as they continue their fourth season in the ECHL, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A., on Friday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena. Fans can tune into the game on iHeartSolarBears.com or watch via ECHL.TV.
Orlando returns to the Amway Center to host the Manchester Monarchs for the first time in team history on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7:00 p.m.
