Orlando Solar Bears News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears (8-4-1-2), proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, saw their six-game unbeaten streak come to an end following a 6-3 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays (9-6-1-1) in front of a crowd of 5,559 on Tuesday night at the Amway Center.

Orlando opened the scoring in the second period when Denver Manderson fired a shot past Mark Dekanich at 2:14 after Brett Findlay managed to race down the puck and feed it into the slot for Manderson.

The Stingrays took advantage of a four-minute span on the man advantage, as Brendan Ellis struck for South Carolina at 4:44, and Brett Cameron fired home a puck past Rob Madore at 6:04.

Findlay tied the score for Orlando after working the puck into the attacking zone with Erik Bradford and beat Dekanich high glove side at 7:01.

South Carolina restored its lead when Austin Fyten recovered a loose puck on a Stingrays power play and swept the puck into the net at 12:55.

In the third period, South Carolina's David Pacan would score his first three goals of the season to complete a hat trick; despite another goal from Eric Faille, the Solar Bears were unable to close the gap.

Madore took the loss with 34 saves on 39 attempts; Dekanich picked up the victory with 24 stops on 27 shots.
