
Snappers Shake Up Pitching Staff

The Beloit Snappers will have new a look to their pitching staff for their upcoming series with the Dayton Dragons. The Dragons should recognize the new addition, since he has played with them this season. The Snappers added right-hander Zach Ward to their lineup, effective July 31 following a trade between the Minnesota Twins and the Dragons parent club, the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds selected Ward in the third round of the 2005 June draft. This season for Dayton, Ward was 7-0 with a 2.29 ERA.
Snappers lefty reliever Jon-Michael Cline was placed on the seven day disabled list effective July 31 (left shoulder impingement). Cline was signed as non-drafted free agent. This season Cline is 0-2 with an 8.53 ERA. He has recorded one save.
Beloit starting pitcher Oswaldo Sosa was promoted to the Ft. Myers Miracle of the Florida State League, effective today. Sosa was 9-7 for the Snappers with a 2.75 ERA. He struck out 95 batters in 117.2 innings. Sosa has won his last two starts and has had two three game winning streaks this season.
The Snappers active roster is currently at 24, one below the Midwest League Maximum.
