Dayton stops Beloit's streak

Notes: The Dayton Dragons got things started in the first inning. Habelito Hernandez's single drove in Eric Eymann. Craig Tatum then followed with a double that plated two runs, giving the Dragons a 3-0 lead. Dayton continued the offensive onslaught with a four-run fourth inning, highlighted by a three-run double off the bat of Dragons second baseman, Michael DeJesus.

The Snappers began to chip away at the lead with a three-run fourth. Beloit's William Luque started the inning with a triple and later scored off a single by first baseman Erik Lis. Eli Tintor then doubled to left field scoring Erik Lis. Juan Portes then plated Tintor with a double to left field, cutting the lead to 7-3.

The Snappers continued to narrow the gap with a one-run fifth. William Luque scored Toby Gardenhire from third on a ground out to Dayton pitcher, Daniel Guerrero.

The Dragons Adam Rosales scored in the sixth off of first baseman Habelito Hernandez's single to right field. Beloit attempted a late inning surge in the ninth with one run already across and the bases loaded. Whit Robbins stepped up to the plate and was retired on a check-swing ground ball to Dayton closer Damian Ursin.

Jose Cordero worked three innings giving up seven runs, five earned, in a losing effort for the Snappers. Dayton starter Guerrero worked five innings, giving up four runs, three earned, and scattered six hits to pick up the win for the Dragons.
