Come out to Veterans Memorial Stadium this Saturday, August 5th starting at 9 am for a FREE Home Run Derby presented by Perfect Game USA and the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
As an added attraction, through the courtesy of Metro Studios of Hiawatha and the Kernels, the event will be show live on the Rockwell Collins GameLink, the stadium's 16' x 24' LED video board.
Registration is open to boys and girls age 18 and under. The hitting groups will be as follows: 6 years and under, 7-8 years, 9-10 years, 11-12 years, 13-14 years, 15-16 years, and 17-18 years.
The six and under group starts at 9 am with all participants 12 and under scheduled to hit before noon. The 13 and 14 year olds will start off the afternoon.
The stadium concession stands will be open for this FREE event and all participants will receive a free t-shirt. There will also be drawings for prizes throughout the day.
All pitches in the home run derby will be from a pitching machine and anyone six and under will have the option of using a hitting tee.
Pick up a sign-up sheet at Perfect Game USA, or in the Bimm Ridder Diamond Shop at Veterans Memorial Stadium. You also can sign-up at the stadium the day of the event.
