
Snappers Send Four to All-Star Game

Minnesota Twins top prospect Aaron Hicks can now be call an All-Star as well as three other members of the Beloit Snappers. Along with Hicks Snapper's infielder Anderson Hidalgo and right handed pitchers Tom Stuifbergen and Kane Holbrooks round out the All-Star list for Beloit.
Hicks, who will start in the outfield for the Midwest League's Western Division, is batting .244 with five home runs and 14 RBI's. He has drawn 37 walks, which is currently fourth best in the Midwest League, and leads the team with an OBP of .362. The 14th overall selection in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, Hicks is also ranked as the 29th best prospect in all of Minor League Baseball by Baseball America.
Hidalgo will join Hicks in the starting line-up for the Western Division, beginning the game at third base. Signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2006, Hidalgo leads the team in batting average (.312), slugging percentage (.435) and doubles (16).
After the promotion of Steve Blevins on May 10th, Holbrooks has taken over the closing role for the Snappers. He leads the team seven saves and has appeared in 23 games, compiling a record of 2-2 with an ERA of 1.38. He has also struck out 46 batters, tying him for the team high.
A 6-3 righty from the Netherlands, Tom Stuifbergen has posted a 4-0 record in eight games, six of which were starts. In 36 plus innings Stuifbergen has an ERA of 1.47 and has struck out 36 batters, while only giving up six earned runs.
You can see your 2010 Snappers All-Stars at Parkview Field as the Fort Wayne TinCaps host the 2010 Midwest League All-Star game. Festivities begin on Monday, June 21st as the evening will be capped off with the Midwest League Home Run Derby. The All-Star Game itself will be played on Tuesday, June 22nd.
