MWL Beloit Sky Carp

Snappers Clinch First Series Win at ABC Supply Stadium

August 7, 2021 - Midwest League (MWL)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope. Those are the best fireworks in the Stateline area as part of the first Saturday Night Fireworks show hosted by the Beloit Snappers at ABC Supply Stadium.

While the night ended with a bang, and the fourth Snappers win in a row, the night started with fun. One of the highlights included the first T-shirt toss of the season. The cheers and roars from the fans could be heard in Appleton. Other highlights included the largest Snappy chase of the season, Krazy Ketchup, defended his crown and earned his second win in a row, and Downtown Dave serenaded the crowd with an amazing rendition of the 7th inning stretch. Downtown Dave will head back to Florida on Sunday but wanted to leave Snappers fans with a message...

"You are the best fans I could have asked for this week. I love this city, I love you, the fans, and I can't wait to see you again," Dave said. "I want to be able to hear Snappers' chants from down in Pensacola."

Season standings for the condiment race - Krazy Ketchup - 3, Rowdy Ranch - 1, Mighty Mustard - 0.

The Beloit Snappers used a three-run sixth inning to pick up a 4-1 win: their fourth straight win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to move into third place in the High-A Central West Division. The Snappers pitching staff of George Soriano and Cody Mincey combined to throw a three-hit game. Ynmanol Marinez hit his third professional home run to tie the game in the fifth inning. Beloit put up four straight hits to score three in the sixth to seal the 4-1 win.

The Snappers are back in action against the Timber Rattlers again on Sunday at 2:05. For more information on tickets or group outings, call our front office at 608.362.2272 or visit SnappersBaseball.com.
