
Snappers Add Mata; Place Hawes On The DL

The Beloit Snappers announce their first roster move of the 2006 season. Right-handed pitcher Adam Hawes is placed on the seven-day disabled list effective April 24, with a right elbow injury. Hawes had a 1-1 record with a 3.71 ERA in three starts for the Snappers. He struck out 13 batters in 17 innings of work.
Frank Mata, a right-handed pitcher, will join the club in Quad Cities and be activated effective April 24. Beloit finishes up an eight day road trip with a four game series versus the Swing April 25-28. Mata missed the 2005 season with a right elbow injury. He has a career minor league record of 10-5 with a 3.51 ERA.
