The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays and Burlington Bess came out swinging in their series operner at C.O. Brown Stadium on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, neither team connected very often.

The Rays and Bees took a scoreless tie into the 10th inning, when Mario Lisson delivered a two-run, two-out, bases-loaded single off Rays reliever Kevin Lynnto put the Burlington on the board. Both runs were unearned due to a Neil Walton throwing error and were charged to Eddie DeLaCruz.

The Rays received solid pitching from starter Greg Reinhard (5IP, 2H, BB, 4K) and Chris Kelly worked a season high 3 1/3 frames out of the pen, allowing just an infield single.

Offensively, the Rays generated six hits, including a pair from Christian Lopez. Rhyne Hughes extended his hitting streak to eight games. With the loss, the Rays fall to 8-11. Game two of the four-game set comes on Wednesday morning at 11:05.
