Skeeters Win All-Star Showdown in Tenth 7-3

On Wednesday, both Sugar Land and Lancaster had six players named earlier in the day to this year's Atlantic League All-Star Game. It was the Skeeters All-Stars who prevailed though, winning 7-3 for the second night in a row in the tenth inning. After a dramatic game one victory Sugar Land and Lancaster went at it again in game two. It started with both teams getting solo homeruns from All-Star Aaron Bates for Sugar Land and All-Star Blake Gailen for Lancaster, making it 1-1 after four. Sugar Land native Michael Rockett had a solo blast in the fifth, but Lancaster tied it in the bottom of the inning to make it 2-2. A Travis Scott RBI single and a homerun from former Astro Daryl Ward led to another tie, at 3-3 after the sixth. It stayed that way until the tenth when the Skeeters scored four times in the win.

Up Next : On Thursday the final game of this three game series, Sugar Land goes for the sweep by sending out RHP Jason Lane (5-3, 3.36) vs. RHP Brian Grening (4-5, 3.93) for the Barnstormers.
