WALDORF, Md. - Camden Riversharks starting pitcher Wilson Battisto threw a two-hitter through seven innings against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs to help lift the 'Sharks to a 3-2 win and their first of the second half of the Atlantic League season tonight at Regency Furniture Stadium. Battisto would cap-off the night with seven strikeouts and allow just one run, while Blue Crabs starting pitcher Gaby Hernandez also had a solid performance, throwing 6 1/3 innings of three-hit ball, but his two runs allowed would be enough to hand him the loss.

After being shutout through the first three innings off of 'Sharks pitcher Battisto, the Blue Crabs would finally add a tally in the fourth inning compliments of first baseman Jose Julio-Ruiz. Outfielder Cyle Hankerd would reach base on a fielder's choice and then Julio-Ruiz would break-up the no-hitter by doubling to right field to score Hankerd and lock the game at one. The game would remain tied through the seventh inning when an error by Blue Crabs shortstop Renny Osuna allowed Camden to re-gain the lead. The Riversharks then notched another run in the eighth frame to increase their lead by two.

In the bottom of the inning Southern Maryland outfielder Sean Smith would make his way around the bases by leading-off with a single to center field and then a stolen base. Osuna followed with another single to put Smith at third and Hankerd would collect the RBI with a sacrifice fly to bring the Blue Crabs within one as they attempted to change momentum in their favor. The momentum shift would carry on to the mound as closer Jim Ed Warden threw nine pitches, seven for strikes, in their 1-2-3 ninth inning and give the Blue Crabs one last chance. However Camden outfielder Yasser Gomez would halt any hopes of a rally as he played Cesar Nicolas's perfectly off of the left field wall, followed by catching another long ball for the 3-2 final.
