Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, are pleased to announce that Daniel Sisca has been named the CCM Tacks ECHL Player of the Month for October, 2007. The announcement was made earlier this afternoon at the ECHL offices in Princeton, N.J.
Sisca, 24, tallied four goals, including two power play goals, a shorthanded tally, and one game-winning goal, and added four assists and a plus-four rating in five games to lead the RoadRunners to a 3-2-0 record to start their season-opening 12-game home-stand. He is the first RoadRunners' player in the club's ECHL history to win the league's monthly award.
Earlier this season, Sisca was named the first In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 18-21, making him the first RoadRunners' player to be honored twice in the same season.
The Woodbridge, Ontario native and fourth-year professional signed with the RoadRunners as a free agent on Aug. 27. Sisca tallied nine goals and 24 points in 32 games last season with HC Milan of the Italian "Serie A". Sisca was a 2006 ECHL All-Star and a member of the 2005-06 ECHL All-Rookie Team after totaling 29 goals and 79 points in 71 games with the Florida Everblades.
Sisca currently leads the RoadRunners and is tied for 14th overall in the ECHL scoring race with four goals and 10 points.
The RoadRunners continue their season opening 12-game home-stand at 7:11 p.m. Wednesday as they play the middle game of a three-game series with the Stockton Thunder at US Airways Center.
Great seats are still available beginning as low as $8 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (480) 784-4444, purchasing online ticketmaster.com or visiting the US Airways Center Box Office.
