Biloxi, MS- Danick Bouchard scored his sixth goal of the season 53 seconds into the game but the Wildcatters would not score again in the remaining 64 minutes of play as they squeaked past the Mississippi Sea Wolves 2-1 in a shootout for their fifth consecutive victory.

Bouchard scored on Texas' first shootout attempt and John McNabb would add another on the second chance as the 'Catters (6-1-0-1) would win the shootout by a slim 2-1 margin. Ryan Menei scored in the shootout for Mississippi (1-6-0-1) on their second attempt.

Bouchard led off the scoring for the Wildcatters for the third time in four games. His sixth goal, which ties him for the team lead and second among ECHL rookies, came when he beat Mississippi net minder Morgan Cey high on the stick side off a feed from Marco Rosa. The assist was Rosa's eighth of the season and ties him with McNabb as the team point leader (12).

Mississippi, shut out 4-0 by Anton Khudobin when the teams last faced each other Sunday, finally broke the through the Kazakhstan native when Ben Deschamps shot from the right point deflected off a Wildcatters defender and into the net at 8:04 of the second period.

Khudobin finished the night with 29 saves while Cey stopped 37 shots for Mississippi. Khudobin's 1.11 GAA and .959 save percentage rank him first among ECHL goalies.

The teams went a combined 0-19 on the power play. Texas was scoreless on 10 attempts and Mississippi on nine.

"Tonight was a 'grind-it-out', tough win," said Wildcatters Head Coach Malcolm Cameron, "We certainly had our chances to win in regulation, but I'm very proud of this team. It shows a lot of character to be on the road and finding ways to win close games instead of ways to lose them."

The Texas roster will get a two-man addition tomorrow as the Houston Aeros assigned D Maxim Noreau and RW Matt Kassian to the Wildcatters. Both players will be joining the 'Catters on the road and are expected to play in the next game Friday at 7:05 in Pensacola.

The 'Catters are off to their best start in team history and have yet to lose in regulation since dropping the season opener in Augusta. They join Gwinnett as the only one-loss teams in the ECHL. The Wildcatters visit the Gladiators this Saturday at 6:35 CDT.
