BRIDGEPORT, Conn - Jon Sim scored two goals, Tony Romano netted his first of the season and Kevin Poulin made 28 saves as the Sound Tigers defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack 4-1 at the Arena at Harbor Yard on Saturday night. The win moves the Sound Tigers to 5-6-0-0. Hartford is now winless in their last nine games and drops to 3-8-2-1.

Forward Jean Bourbeau got things going for the Sound Tigers in the first period. Bourbeau laid a big hit into Wolf Pack defenseman Pavel Valentenko and drew a roughing penalty on Dane Byers following the hit. On the ensuing power play, Jon Sim picked up where he left off from his last Sound Tigers home game and knocked a rebound past Hartford goaltender Cameron Talbot. It was Sim's fourth goal of the season and the Sound Tigers were ahead 1-0 midway through the first period.

45 seconds into the second period Sim would net his fifth goal in five periods on home ice. Off a Hartford turnover Rob Hisey fired a shot towards the Hartford net with Sim camped out in front. The veteran forward got the blade of his stick on Hisey's shot to deflect it past Talbot for his second goal of the game and team-leading fifth of his brief season thus far with Bridgeport to put the Sound Tigers ahead by two. 3:25 later they increased their lead when Tony Romano skated behind the Hartford net and snuck a wraparound attempt past Talbot's right pad for his first goal of the season to give Bridgeport a three-goal advantage.

Hartford got on the board at the 6:10 mark of the third when Devin DiDiomete found rebound in front of Sound Tigers goalie Kevin Poulin and chipped it home for his second of the season to cut the deficit to 3-1. That was as close as Hartford would get though, as Jesse Joensuu put the finishing touches on this one with an empty-netter to seal a 4-1 win in favor of the Sound Tigers.

Poulin made his fourth start in net and was solid once again, making 28 saves to earn his third win of the season. Talbot got his second start between the pipes for Hartford and 24 saves in the loss. Sim's two goals give him five on the season, which makes him the team leader in that category in only three games with the Sound Tigers thus far. Rob Hisey's two assists give him eight for the year and 11 points total, both tops on the Sound Tigers.

Jack Capuano's squad will look to sweep the home-and-home series tomorrow night when they face Hartford at the XL Center at 7 p.m.
