Everett Silvertips News Release

MOOSE JAW, SK - The Everett Silvertips outshot the Moose Jaw Warriors 47-31 but it wasn't enough, as Seattle Kraken prospect Jagger Firkus' two breakaway goals spurred the Warriors past the Tips 4-1 Friday night.

Firkus opened the scoring at 19:23 in the first period, as a breakaway opportunity was initially stopped by Braden Holt but kicked in by a defensive skate on the rebound. Jackson Berezowski evened the score at 2:53 with his ninth goal of the season, capitalizing a feed from Oren Shtrom (his first point as a Silvertip).

The tie would last just 35 seconds, as Firkus once more converted on a breakaway for his second of the game and sixth of the season. Nathan Pilling would add an insurance goal at 17:54 in the second, with Brayden Yager tacking on an empty netter with five seconds remaining in regulation for a 4-1 final.

Everett now turns their attention to Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats Saturday night at the Brandt Centre. Live coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. PT on KRKO 1380 AM & 95.3 FM, as well as the CHL app.
