BRANDON M.B. - The Winnipeg Ice freeze the Brandon Wheat Kings in front of a capacity crowd in Westoba Place Friday night by a score of 4-1.

The Wheat Kings came out flying to start the game with Nolan Ritchie scoring the first goal on the power-play to make it 1-0 with under 8 minutes remaining. The Ice would get the equalizer with only 15 seconds remaining after Connor McClennon fired a shot from the left side circle through a screen to tie it up heading to the dressing room.

The Ice would get the go ahead goal in the second when McClennon placed a puck on net allowing Ben Zloty to cash in on the rebound to make it 2-1. Carson Bjarnason would keep it 2-1 with a couple great saves late.

The Winnipeg Ice would continue to pour it on in the third period allowing Conor Geekie to find Ty Nash off the rush giving the Ice a 3-1 lead. Ice Captain Carson Lambos would add an empty net goal to give the Ice a 4-1 win.

The Wheat Kings will head to Winnipeg tomorrow night to conclude their double header with the Ice. Puck drop at 7:00pm CST from Wayne Fleming Arena in Winnipeg. Fans can catch the game on Q Country 91.5 starting at 6:45pm PM CST time.
