Everett Silvertips News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips topped the Central Division-leading Red Deer Rebels Sunday night by a 4-2 score, capping off a five-point weekend.
Jesse Heslop opened the scoring at 8:08, dangling past Rebels netminder Rhett Stoesser for his seventh goal of the season. Red Deer evened the score with a two-on-one rush by Frantisek Formanek, tying the game at one a side after one.
Red Deer grabbed the lead with a powerplay goal 39 seconds into the second period, scored by Ben King- his 10th goal of the season. Everett battled back at 10:56, as Aidan Sutter slipped a backhander home for his fourth goal of the season. Austin Roest provided the Silvertips a 3-2 lead late in the second period, banging in a powerplay rebound for his 28th goal of the season.
Jackson Berezowski tacked on an empty-netter at 18:39 in the third period to seal the 4-2 win. Tyler Palmer stopped 22 of 24 in the victory.
The Silvertips now turn their attention to the Spokane Chiefs next weekend, as they have a home-and-home beginning in Spokane on Friday night and finishing in Everett Saturday night. The first 1,000 fans will receive a mystery giveaway courtesy of Sam's Cats and Dogs, and the Great Small Dog Race series continues in the first intermission with the fastest dachshunds in the county. Tickets are available.
