Everett Silvertips News Release
The Everett Silvertips have added two players to their prospect pool, selecting goaltender Evan Enck and center Drew Fox through the U.S. Priority Draft.
Enck, an '09-born Costa Mesa, CA native, was picked 19th-overall in the first round. Measuring at 5-foot-10, 138 pounds, he spent his 2023-24 season with the Anaheim Jr. Ducks 14U, where he posted a 27-6-0 record with a 1.65 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. He also recorded seven shutouts throughout the year.
"Evan is an athletic, focused, competitive goalie," commented Silvertips U.S. scout Michael Devellano. "He's a terrific fit for our coaching staff as he shows a constant desire to improve his game. He is an above-average puck handler and skater for his position and was a top goalie in the Tier-1 Elite League."
Enck backstopped the Jr. Ducks to a USA Hockey Pacific District title as well as a berth in the USA Hockey National Championship.
Fox, an '09-born Hickory Creek, TX native, was taken 41st-overall in the second round. A 5-foot-8, 150-pound forward, Fox skated in 84 games with the Dallas Stars Elite 14U in 2023-24, logging 48 goals and 52 assists for 100 points. He helped lead the team to titles in both the USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District and Tier-1 Elite Championship, as well as a berth in the USA Hockey National Championship.
"Drew is a skilled forward with a high hockey IQ," noted Devellano. "He can play center or wing and has great hands and quickness. He displays a real passion for the game and has a high compete level in all areas of the ice. I think he will really fit with the culture of our team."
WHL Draft Week rolls on with the Prospects Draft tomorrow beginning at 9 a.m. PT. The Everett Silvertips hold the first-overall pick for the first time in franchise history, as well as the 19th-overall pick.
