May 8, 2024 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

With their first pick of the U.S. Priority Draft, the Brandon Wheat Kings went looking for their next top star at the Shattuck St. Mary's 14U AAA program, one of the most respected in hockey. With their second pick, they went back to same squad.

That second pick, 36th overall, netted the Wheat Kings forward Ethan Sung of Pasadena, California. This came after the Wheat Kings used their first pick on Shattuck forward Colin Grubb at 14th overall.

Sung was the leading scorer for Shattuck during the season, and among the more productive scorers in the country. He posted a whopping 49 goals and 119 points in just 57 games.

With this pick, the Wheat Kings conclude their U.S. priority draft for 2024. The WHL Prospects Draft is tomorrow, May 9, at 11:00 AM Central Time.
