
Shooter's First Birthday, Bobblehead Giveaway Highlight Weekend

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars are proud to announce that on Saturday, January 21st, they will be celebrating Shooter's First Birthday. As part of the celebration, the first 5,000 fans âthrough the turnstiles' will receive a limited edition collectible Shooter bobblehead!!! In addition to the bobblehead, children in attendance will receive a snack cake, while supplies last, compliments of our friends at Little Debbie Snacks. The Stars will also welcome several area mascots to help celebrate Shooter's Birthday. Shooter and his friends will be roaming the concourse throughout the game and will participate in a first intermission mascot broomball game.
The following mascots have already RSVP'd: Cubbie (Iowa Cubs); Maniac (Des Moines Menace); Happy Bear (Blank Children's Hospital); Pink Panther (Basement One); Louie the Lightning Bug (MidAmerican Energy); Apple Blossom (Apple Tree Children's Center); Leaps the Frog (YMCA); Wallaby (Blank Park Zoo); Rolen D. Dice (Dice.com); O C Bee (Old Country Buffet).
The Stars also confirmed today that right wing Junior Lessard will be presented with his AHL Player of the Week Award on Friday, January 20th. Lessard, the AHL Player of the Week for the period ending January 8th, will receive an etched crystal in a ceremony prior to the Stars 7:05 PM face-off with Chicago on Friday. Friday is also 4 for $40 night brought to you by STAR 102.5.
NEXT THREE GAMES: The Iowa Stars travel to Grand Rapids for a Wednesday night game against the Griffins. Iowa then returns home for the first two games of a five-game home-stand. The Stars welcome the Chicago Wolves back to Wells Fargo Arena on Friday, January 20th on 4 for $40 night! Junior Lessard will also be presented with his AHL Award for earning the Player of the Week. The following night, the 21st, join local area mascots in celebrating SHOOTER'S FIRST BIRTHDAY! The first 5,000 fans will receive a Shooter Bobblehead.
