Stockton Thunder News Release

Stockton, Calif. - Stockton Thunder goaltender Cody Reichard stands on his head and the offense responds for him with hockey's version of a "buzzer beater" as the Thunder defeat the Idaho Steelheads 2-1 Saturday night at Stockton Arena. Reichard made 37 saves on the 38 shots he faced, robbing Idaho players left and right on scoring chances. The offense came off a goal from Garet Hunt, who tied the Thunder all-time scoring record with the snipe on the power play in the second. Then, just as it looked like the game was headed to overtime, Tyler Shattock finished a beautiful passing play from Jack Combs and Vinny Scarsella with .5 seconds left on the clock in the third. The thrilling finish sets up the rubber match between the two teams Sunday evening as the Thunder and the Steelheads will faceoff for the final time.
