Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators bats woke up in a big way Thursday night at Prince George's Stadium with their 10-3 win over the Bowie Baysox. Harrisburg scored twice in the first and three more times in the second to take an early 5-2 lead. After Bowie closed to 5-3, the Senators tallied an insurance run in the eighth and then scored four in the ninth to blow the game open. The win snapped a mini two-game losing streak.
The Big Play
Leading 2-1 in the top of the second with two on and no outs, Jackson Cluff tried to sacrifice bunt but bunted foul. He then blasted a three-run home run putting the Senators on top 5-1.
On Capitol Hill
Cole Henry started and went the first 1.2 innings allowing two runs on two hits before being lifted... Lucas Knowles followed and went 2.2 innings allowing a run on two hits and earning the win... Malvin Pena followed by going 2.2 innings without allowing a run or a hit... Garvin Alston and Jack Sinclair both pitched scoreless innings... The Sens held Bowie to just four hits, three in the first two innings.
With the Gavel
The Sens offense exploded for ten runs, 13 hits and a pair of three-run home runs... Cluff had three hits including his three-run home run in the second... Brady House had his first two double-A hits... Frankie Tostado had two hits including a two-run first inning triple... Terone Harris III went 2-for-4 and scored twice... Jacob Young hit a three-run home run in the ninth and on the night, drove in four runs and scored twice.
Filibusters
The Senators pitching staff walked nine Baysox though only one walk scored... Harrisburg went 4-for-11 with runners in scoring position... The time of the game was 2:53... The attendance at Prince George's Stadium was 2,284.
